Taxonomy
Modiolus ellipticus was named by Guskov and Pogorevitsch (1984). It is a mold. Its type locality is Khalmeryuskoe Coalfield, Well KhK-799, 109 m, Pechora Basin, which is in a Kungurian coastal siliciclastic in the Lekvorkuta Formation of the Russian Federation.
