Paracybantyx was named by Ludvigson and Tripp (1990) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-u S Ludl]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Bumastinae by Adrain et al. (1995); to Styginidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Corynexochida by Sepkoski (2002).
