Taxonomy
Cyclopecten acuminatus was named by Waller (2011). Its type specimen is NMB G17491, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NMB Loc. 15829, Rio Gurabo, which is in a Zanclean offshore siltstone in the Mao Formation of the Dominican Republic.
