Taxonomy
Naticopsis (Naticopsis) heshanensis was named by Pan and Erwin (2002). Its type specimen is USNM 127631, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Matan M46, Heshan, which is in a Changhsingian carbonate limestone in the Heshan Formation of China.

It was recombined as Naticopsis heshanensis by Ketwetsuriya et al. (2020).
