Prognathodon saturator
Taxonomy
Prognathodon saturator was named by Dortangs et al. (2002). Its type specimen is NHMM 1998141, a partial skeleton (Nearly complete skull, articulated cervical and anterior dorsal vertebrae with ribs, isolated pygal and sacral vertebrae, scapulocoracoid and scattered appendic), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is ENCI-Maastricht B.V. quarry (flint layer 18), which is in a Maastrichtian shallow subtidal grainstone in the Gulpen Formation of the Netherlands.
