Metacoceras dorsoarmatum
Taxonomy
Nautilus dorsoarmatus was named by Abich (1878). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Araxes Gorge, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in Azerbaijan.
It was recombined as Pleuronautilus dorsoarmatus by Arthaber (1900); it was recombined as Metacoceras dorsoarmatum by Shimansky (1965) and Teichert and Kummel (1973).
