Agnostus gibbus was named by Linnarsson (1869). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Ptychagnostus gibbus by Peng and Robison (2000); it was recombined as Triplagnostus gibbus by Ergaliev and Ergaliev (2008), Naimark and Pegel (2017).
