Hantzschel 1975Cylindrical tunnels projecting radially from vertical and/or oblique shafts; may possess either smooth or nodose surfaces; straight or curving; radial bifurcations from central shaft may extend up to 10 cm and can apparently occur at different levels; no internal lining of burrow system is apparent; diameter of total structure 10 to 20 cm; depth in sediment 0.3 to 2 meters or more.
