Taxonomy
Gervillia orientalis was named by Douvillé (1916). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gebel Aroussieh (Callovian), which is in a Callovian marine horizon in Egypt.

It was recombined as Gervillella orientalis by Lazar (2004).
