Taxonomy
Halysiocrinus elephantinus was named by Laudon (1936). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Univ. Iowa 1992, a calyx. Its type locality is Linwood Member, Cedar Valley Limestone, which is in a Givetian marine limestone in the Cedar Valley Formation of Iowa.
