Hoploparia dentonensis was named by Rathbun (1935). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 2 mi N of Denison, 1/2 mi E of Denton clay/Kde type locality..., which is in an Albian marine claystone in the Denton Formation of Texas.
