Neocalmonia was named by Pillet (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras-l D Fras-u Sepkoski's reference number: 983]. It is not extant. Its type is Neocalmonia quadricosta.
It was assigned to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Acastidae by Jell and Adrain (2003).
