Taxonomy
Callianassa hilli was named by Rathbun (1918). Its type specimen is USNM 135218, a claw, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Station 18, Gatun beds (Hill collection), which is in a Tortonian marine siliciclastic in the Gatun Formation of Panama.
