Taxonomy
Shipaiella was named by Zhang et al. (1980) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Boto Sepkoski's reference number: 463]. It is not extant. Its type is Shipaiella pyriformis.

It was assigned to Dorypygidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Trilobita by Sepkoski (2002).
