Taxonomy
Ethusa octospinosa was named by Müller (2006). Its type specimen is HNHM 2005.96.1, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is MOLI layer, Árkád supermarket, Örs Vezér square, Budapest, which is in a Badenian shallow subtidal limestone in Hungary.
