Taxonomy
Paralegoceras evolutum was named by Haniel (1915) [Paralegoceras sundaicum form. evoluta]. It is the type species of Metalegoceras.

It was recombined as Metalegoceras evolutum by Ruzhentsev (1956), Leonova (2002).
