Glaberagnostus altaicus was named by Romanenko (1985). It is not extant. Its type locality is Glyptagnostus reticulatus zone, Ishpa River, Altai - Romanenko 1984, which is in a Sakian carbonate limestone in the Kul'bich Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Glaberagnostus.
