Taxonomy
Serratocorona halberdiforme was named by Chen (2002). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is TC0233 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is XTZC15 Xiao'wa, Guanling, which is in a Julian carbonate limestone in the Wayao Formation of China.
