Taxonomy
Sinosaurichthys longimedialis was named by Wu et al. (2011). Its type specimen is GMPKU-P1927, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dawazi, above bed D54, Luoping County, which is in a Pelsonian marine limestone in the Guanling Formation of China.
