Taxonomy
Nimbacinus richi was named by Murray and Megirian (2000). Its type specimen is NTM P9612-4, a mandible (right dentary with P1-M4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Top Site, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Camfield Beds Formation of Australia.
