Taxonomy
Furcirhynchia trechmanni was named by MacFarlan (1992). Its type specimen is OU 17082, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is McF E47, Taylors-Otapiri Junction (E45/f9455), which is in a Sinemurian marine horizon in New Zealand.
