Taxonomy
Lobocarcinus santosi was named by Rathbun (1937). Its type specimen is USNM 495102, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is On coast near Quebrada Marinero, which is in a Priabonian marine limestone/sandstone in Panama.
It was recombined as Cancer santosi by Anderson and Feldmann (1995), Schweitzer et al. (2010), Luque et al. (2017).
