Retitricolporites equatorialis was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-15-600 (Catatumbo) Loc: 47.6X112.8 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

Grain semitectate. Costae pori, costae colpi and equatorial colpi present. Thickness of exine 1.5 µ; endexine thicker than ectexine. Polar area about 4 µ.
