Taxonomy
Melanatria ypresiana was named by Vega and Perilliat (1992). It is not extant. Its type locality is IGM 1973 - Cerro La Carroza green beds, which is in a Ypresian delta plain mudstone/siltstone in the Adjuntas Formation of Mexico.
