Taxonomy
Parotosuchus komiensis was named by Novikov (1986). Its type specimen is PIN 3361/18, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zheshart, which is in an Olenekian terrestrial horizon in the Yarenskian Formation of the Russian Federation.
