Taxonomy
Feistmantelia ornata was named by Fritsch (1904). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Near Studnoves, which is in a Gzhelian terrestrial shale/coal in the Slaný Formation of Czechia.

It was recombined as Isobuthus ornatus by Petrunkevitch (1953).
