Araneus molassicus

Taxonomy
Epeira molassica was named by Heer (1864). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Oeningen (Zurich collection), which is in a Sarmatian crater lake limestone in the Upper Freshwater-Molasse Formation of Germany.

It was recombined as Araneus molassicus by Dunlop et al. (2013).
