Saurichthys (Costasaurichthys) costasquamosus

Taxonomy
Saurichthys costasquamosus was named by Rieppel (1985). Its type specimen is PIMUZ T1855, a partial skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Point 902, Monte San Giorgio, Bed 163, which is in a Fassanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal dolomite/shale in the Besano Formation of Switzerland. It is the type species of Saurichthys (Costasaurichthys).

It was recombined as Saurichthys (Costasaurichthys) costasquamosus by Tintori (2013).
