Cryptoscorpius americanus
Taxonomy
Cryptoscorpius americanus was named by Jeram (1994). Its type specimen is BELUM K14083a, a claw (pedipalp manus and fixed finger), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Lone Star Lake spillway (Ulster Museum coll.), which is in a Kasimovian estuary/bay shale in the Lawrence Shale Formation of Kansas. It is the type species of Cryptoscorpius.
