Taxonomy
Stoliczkaia praecursor was named by Anderson (1958). Its type specimen is UCMP 14981, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cottonwood district, unspecified locations, which is in a Cenomanian marine siliciclastic in California.
