Hou 1986 | Diagnosis. -Large, ovoid and rotund, biconvex to dorsibiconvex shells with strongly incurved, hypercline beak, no foramen, weakly uniplicate to rectimarginate fold, ribbing, no growth lamellae or frills. Ventral valve with small and rounded dental cavities, lacking true dental plates, dorso-ventral teeth. Brachial valve aseptate, socket plates thin, small crural bases, short and fibrous crura, jugal processes separated, tapering to delicate laterally twisted plates. Spiralia dorsally directed, with numerous coils (Figure 3). |
