Taxonomy
Holtedahlina orientalis was named by Popov and Cocks (2006). Its type specimen is BC 57623, a valve (internal and external moulds of a dorsal valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 856. Northern Dulankara Mountains, which is in a Katian marginal marine siltstone/mudstone in the Dulankara Formation of Kazakhstan.
