Taxonomy
Frencrinuroides edseli was named by Edgecombe et al. (1998). Its type specimen is CEGH-UNC 14683, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Encrinuroides edseli by Moss and Westrop (2014).
