Williams 1962 | Small, unequally biconvex Paucicrura with a shallower brachial valve bearing a gentle wide, median suleus, outline subeircular with the brachial valves slightly more than three-quarters as long as wide, hinge-line wide but less than maximum width; ornamentation costellate, typically consisting of internal secondaries and also external ones in sectors IV to VII at the 2-ram. stage of growth; ventral muscle-scar subcordate, about one-third as long as the length of the pedicle valve; myophore of cardinal process bulbous, developing earlier than the shaft, brachiophore bases or supporting plates initially slotlike, becoming massive by lateral and anterior secretion of secondary shell deposit that masks the later developing socket plates; adductor field quadripartite, just less than two-fifths the length of the brachial valve. |
