Strophomena bidecorata was named by Barrande (1879) [= Strophomena transversalis Wahlenberg; Barrande 1879, pl. 50, case II, figs. 1, 2, 8, 9, 18-21.].
It was recombined as Ygera bidecorata by Havlicek (1967); it was recombined as Eoplectodonta bidecorata by Cocks (1979), Havlicek and Storch (1990).
