Taxonomy
Glaphyrites fornicatus was named by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1978). Its type specimen is PIN 455/38447, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shartym River, Sample 7, Southern Urals, Chelyabinsk, which is in a Marsdenian offshore shelf limestone in the Russian Federation.
