Taxonomy
Libocedrus acutifolius was named by Whang and Hill (1999) [Type locality: Lake Bungarby, (36°09'S, 149°08'E), south-eastern New South Wales.
Collectors: Greg Jordan, Graham Taylor and Leanne Dansie.]. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: LB-217, housed in the Department of Environmental Biology, University of Adelaide., a sterile axis (Cuticle), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Lake Bungarby, which is in a Paleocene terrestrial mudstone in Australia.
