Paramegaliocrinus was named by Arendt (1983) [Sepkoski's age data: C Mosc]. It is not extant. Its type is Paramegaliocrinus erlangeri.

It was assigned to Monobathrida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Paragaricocrinidae by Keyes et al. (2025).
