Corrugatisporites argentinus was named by Archangelsky (1972) [Others samples: P.m. 742, coord. 23.3/109.1. Others measurement: equatorial diameter, 38-60 µ. 24 specimens. Locality. Wells D-13, D-14, D-15? T-13<1, P-9, P-15, C-2.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: Prep: LP n° 74,1, coord. 46.2/115.4. Stored at Museo de La Plata, Paleobotanical division., a microspore (Spore).

S. Archangelsky 1972Espora trilete de contorno ecuatorial triangular, de lados levemente convexos o rectos y angulos redondeados a truncados. Lesura llegando hasta los engrosamientos de los angulos, con un margo generalmente robusto, que ocupa una apreciable superficie en las facetas proximales. Cara proximal lisa; cara distal con muros pronunciados, de contorno algo irregulares y lúmenes generalmente menos anchos; muros, en parte suhparalelos al ecuador. Angulos enteros, engrosados, o a veces divididos en 2 (ocasionalmente 3) lobulos o valvas, formadas por la continuacion de los muros distales y margos proxima1es.
