Acariaiocrinus was named by Wanner (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon P Guad-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Acariaiocrinus clavulus. It is the type genus of Acariaiocrininae.
It was assigned to Acariaiocrininae by Arendt (1970); to Pentececrininae by Ubaghs et al. (1978); to Acariaiocrinidae by Arendt (1981); to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Streblocrinidae by Webster and Webster (2012).
