Strophomena trilobata
Taxonomy
Leptaena trilobata was named by Owen (1852). Its type specimen is USNM 17875, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Near the Agency, Turkey River, which is in a Shermanian carbonate limestone in the Cummingsville Formation of Iowa.
It was recombined as Strophomena trilobata by Miller (1877); it was misspelled as Strophomena trilobita by Rice and Hedblom (1987).
