Taxonomy
Ammonites difficilis was named by d'Orbigny (1840). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Puzosia difficilis by Choffat (1888); it was recombined as Barremites difficilis by Vasicek (2002), Raisossadat (2024); it was recombined as Desmoceras difficile by Douvillé (1916), Benzaggagh (2025).
