Taxonomy
Tornoceras (Tornoceras) contractum was named by Glenister (1958). Its type specimen is CPC 1753, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Tornoceras (Tornoceras) simplex by Petersen (1975); it was recombined as Tornoceras contractum by Becker and House (2000), Korn and Klug (2002), Nikolaeva (2009).
