Taxonomy
Retitriporites amplireticulatus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 15, 6.9 x 97.3, a microspore (Pollen grain). Its type locality is Pinalerita UFP 15, Llanos foothills, Colombia, which is in a Paleocene fluvial-deltaic mudstone/siliciclastic in the Arcillas de el Limbo Formation of Colombia.
