Tuberositriletes verrucatus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga. PaleoDB number 28775. Dimensions in equatorial view.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 34, 10 X 94.9, a microspore.
