Retitriporites poricostatus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga. ]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 47, 18.1 x 82, a microspore (Pollen grain).
