Taxonomy
Romanolagus hekkeri was named by Shevyreva (1995). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Andarak 2, which is in a Ypresian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Alai Beds Formation of Kyrgyzstan.
It was recombined as Gobiolagus hekkeri by Lopatin and Averianov (2006).
