Taxonomy
Gobiolagus burkei was named by Meng et al. (2005). Its type specimen is AMNH 141275, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ula Usu well, Shara Murum, which is in an Eocene terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Shara Murum Formation of China.
