Taxonomy
Mortoniceras (Pervinquieria) nanum was named by Spath (1933). Its type specimen is BMNH C35845, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Mortoniceras nanum by Young (1977); it was recombined as Mortoniceras (Mortoniceras) nanum by Kennedy et al. (2008).
