Taxonomy
Cypraea lintea was named by Conrad (1848). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vicksburg, which is in a Rupelian marine marl in the Byram Marl Formation of Mississippi.
It was recombined as Cypraeorbis lineata by Garvie (1996); it was recombined as Sulcocypraea lintea by Conrad (1865), Schilder (1941), Harris and Palmer (1947), MacNeil and Dockery (1984), Fehse (2013).
